AI person detection in an active industrial environment

Vanheede Plastic Recovery in Roeselare is currently running a demo of the ESQOview+ person detection system. In this dynamic recycling environment, where vehicles and employees are constantly moving between installations and storage areas, maximum visibility is crucial.

During the demo, the ESQOview+ QUAD system is being used on an industrial machine. This AI-controlled camera detection system recognises people in real time and distinguishes them from objects such as pallets, containers or infrastructure. As soon as someone enters a pre-set danger zone, the system can immediately activate a visual and/or acoustic warning.

Thanks to this targeted detection, warnings are only issued when there is an actual risk. This allows the operator to remain alert without being overwhelmed by unnecessary notifications.

With this demo, Vanheede is investigating how AI-driven person detection can contribute to an even safer working environment without impacting productivity or work pace. ESQOview+ demonstrates how smart technology can structurally enhance industrial safety in demanding environments.
